About NAMS

The Directorate of Green India Mission have developed National Afforestation Dashboard and Monitoring System to serve as single reference for all the afforestation/plantation activities being implemented by different stakeholders.


Aim and objectives

The objective of the National Afforestation Dashboard portal is to assimilate, preserve and regulate the plantation data and other data etc. generated by various Schemes (Central, States, Others etc.) over the year and to enable systematic disclosure, sharing and dissemination and to standardize the norms for the accessibility of the data. To make this process work efficiently, identification numbers are used to represent or encode information pertaining to Scheme, KML files, Plantation, Location, etc. to check duplicity of the data and quality control of the data. Given it’s working is governed by the principle of Convergence between different schemes of the Ministry and also the related schemes of other Ministries, initially the integration of the Ministry Specific schemes such as Green India Mission (GIM), MISHTI, CAMPA, Nagar Van Yojana, ETF were integrated with the Dashboard. The scope of this Dashboard will be expanded gradually to encompass all the related central and state sponsored schemes and schemes of the other Ministries and others like PSU etc.
